Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your professional safari guide. Before the adventure begins, you’ll receive a detailed briefing about your 7 Days Tanzania Safari itinerary.
Afterward, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy dinner at the hotel or explore one of Arusha’s recommended local restaurants before preparing for the exciting safari ahead.
Overnight: Gran Melia Hotel, Arusha (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2: Discover Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, your Tanzania safari package officially begins as you travel to the spectacular Tarangire National Park.
Famous for its ancient baobab trees and impressive elephant population, Tarangire offers one of Tanzania’s richest wildlife experiences. Between November and June, thousands of wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and elephants migrate through the park in search of fresh grazing areas.
As your game drive continues, you’ll also have opportunities to spot impalas, elands, hartebeests, Thompson’s gazelles, greater kudus, lesser kudus, and many other fascinating species.
Predators are equally impressive here. Lion prides regularly patrol the park, while leopards and spotted hyenas are frequently seen throughout the day. On lucky occasions, African wild dogs may also appear.
After an unforgettable day exploring Tarangire National Park, you’ll continue to your safari lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Overnight: Tarangire Safari Lodge
Day 3: Explore Lake Manyara National Park
Following breakfast, you’ll continue your Northern Tanzania safari with a visit to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park.
Nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park welcomes visitors with lush forests filled with playful baboons and blue monkeys. As you venture deeper into the park, the landscape transforms into open woodlands, grassy plains, wetlands, and the famous alkaline lake.
Lake Manyara is recognised as one of East Africa’s finest birdwatching destinations. More than 350 bird species have been recorded here, including flamingos, pelicans, sacred ibises, grebes, storks, and countless migratory birds.
Perhaps the park’s greatest attraction is its famous tree-climbing lions. Unlike most lions, these remarkable cats spend hours resting on acacia tree branches several metres above the ground.
During your afternoon game drive, you’ll continue searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, and many other wildlife species that make this park so unique.
Later in the evening, you’ll leave the park and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay overlooking one of Africa’s most spectacular landscapes.
Overnight: Sanctuary Retreat, Ngorongoro Crater
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Your day begins with an early breakfast before descending into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Often referred to as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” the crater is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. During your morning game drive, you’ll have excellent opportunities to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, hippos, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, jackals, antelopes, flamingos, and hundreds of bird species. With a little luck, you may even complete the famous Big Five in a single day.
After enjoying a scenic picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll continue your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park.
The drive itself is part of the adventure. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Tanzania’s rolling landscapes and may witness sections of the world-famous Great Migration, depending on the season.
Before entering Serengeti National Park, you’ll visit a traditional Maasai community. Here, you’ll learn about their fascinating culture, customs, and way of life while exploring their traditional manyatta homes.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Serengeti National Park and begin your first exciting game drive through the endless plains. Keep your camera ready as elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, baboons, and many predators frequently appear before sunset.
After an unforgettable afternoon, you’ll head to your luxury safari camp for dinner and overnight relaxation.
Overnight: New Baobab Central Camp, Serengeti National Park
Day 5: Full-Day Serengeti Safari Adventure
Wake up before sunrise to experience one of the highlights of your 7 Days Tanzania Safari.
Early mornings offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities as predators return from their nightly hunts while herbivores begin grazing across the vast Serengeti plains.
After enjoying a memorable bush breakfast, you’ll continue exploring different areas of the park in search of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and countless other wildlife species.
Later in the morning, you’ll visit the Serengeti Information Centre in Seronera, where your guide will explain the rich history, conservation efforts, and ecological importance of this world-renowned national park.
Following a relaxing lunch, you’ll continue your afternoon safari as temperatures begin to cool.
For guests seeking a different experience, you may choose an optional guided nature walk around the camp with a local community guide. During the walk, you’ll discover medicinal plants, local wildlife, and fascinating stories about the surrounding ecosystem.
Alternatively, you can enjoy a picnic lunch in the park to maximise your wildlife viewing time before continuing your game drive.
As the golden African sunset paints the Serengeti, you’ll return to camp after another unforgettable day on your Tanzania wildlife safari.

Throughout the day, your guide will take you to wildlife-rich areas where you can search for the Great Migration, depending on the season. Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras often move across the endless plains while predators quietly follow nearby.
You’ll also have excellent opportunities to photograph elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, lions, and many colourful bird species.
