Arrival Day

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide before being transferred to your booked hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

After checking in, relax and recover from your flight while preparing for the incredible safari ahead.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda’s most famous destination for chimpanzee trekking.

The scenic drive takes approximately five to six hours, passing through beautiful countryside, traditional villages, tea plantations, and the rolling hills of western Uganda.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner while preparing for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking adventure.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community Experience

After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, where experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will brief you before the trek begins.

Next, venture into Kibale Forest in search of the fascinating chimpanzees. Once located, spend one unforgettable hour observing their behaviour, communication, and social interactions in their natural habitat.

After lunch, enjoy a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area famous for birdlife, monkeys, and authentic cultural experiences.

Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following breakfast, depart Kibale Forest and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife destinations.

Along the way, admire the beautiful crater lakes, tea plantations, and the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains before arriving at the park in the afternoon.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Rise early and enjoy breakfast before setting off for an exciting morning game drive across the famous Kasenyi Plains, where wildlife is most active during the cooler hours of the day.

During the drive, look out for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas, and, if you’re lucky, lions or leopards. In addition, the park is home to over 600 bird species, making every drive rewarding for wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers alike.

After lunch, head to the Kazinga Channel for one of Uganda’s most popular boat cruises. As you cruise along the water, you will enjoy spectacular views of large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and countless water birds gathering along the shoreline.

Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Ishasha Sector – Search for Tree-Climbing Lions

After breakfast, continue your journey through the southern Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the few places in Africa where the famous tree-climbing lions can regularly be seen resting on large fig trees.

Besides the lions, you may also encounter elephants, topis, buffaloes, and several antelope species as you explore this unique part of the park.

Following your game drive, proceed towards Bwindi while enjoying the changing landscapes of southwestern Uganda.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before travelling deeper into the spectacular Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

As you drive through the scenic highlands, you’ll pass beautiful valleys, terraced farms, and traditional villages before arriving at your lodge near the gorilla trekking sector.

The rest of the afternoon is free for relaxation while preparing for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch and transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing centre.

Following the briefing, experienced ranger guides will lead you through the ancient rainforest in search of one of Bwindi’s habituated gorilla families.

The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location. However, once they are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat.

After this once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, leave Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and begin your scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah national park and one of the best places to see zebras, impalas, elands, and giraffes.

The journey offers breathtaking views of the rolling hills and countryside of southwestern Uganda before arriving at your lodge in the afternoon.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the park.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Lake Mburo Boat Cruise

Following an early breakfast, head out for a guided morning game drive to explore Lake Mburo National Park.

Keep an eye out for zebras, impalas, buffaloes, topis, waterbucks, elands, warthogs, giraffes, and numerous bird species that inhabit the park.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you will have excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles, kingfishers, and many other water birds.

Later, return to your lodge for dinner and your final overnight stay inside the park.

Day 10: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.

Along the way, stop at the famous Uganda Equator Crossing in Kayabwe, where you can take memorable photographs, shop for locally made crafts, and enjoy refreshments.

Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe later in the afternoon and transfer to your booked hotel
