Day 1: Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from Entebbe by your professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, travel north through Uganda’s beautiful countryside towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be tracked on foot.

Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy an exciting rhino trekking experience while learning about Uganda’s successful rhino conservation programme.

After lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Before checking into your lodge, visit the spectacular Top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before crashing 45 metres below—one of Uganda’s most breathtaking natural attractions.

Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge surrounded by nature.

The park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, lions, hyenas, and, with a little luck, elusive leopards. Your experienced guide will help you spot wildlife while sharing fascinating information about the park’s ecosystem.

After lunch at the lodge, enjoy one of Uganda’s most popular safari activities—a relaxing boat cruise along the River Nile. Cruise towards the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls while watching hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Along the way, enjoy scenic views of rolling hills, tea plantations, rural villages, and the beautiful Albertine Rift Valley. Stop in Hoima for lunch before continuing to Fort Portal, where you’ll have a short refreshment break before arriving at your lodge in Kibale.

Once found, spend one magical hour observing the chimpanzees as they feed, communicate, groom each other, and move through the forest canopy.

After lunch, you may choose to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can enjoy a guided nature walk while learning about the local community and spotting more birds and monkeys.
