3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda – Kalinzu Forest Safari
Experience Chimpanzee Trekking Uganda in Kalinzu Forest
Experience one of the most rewarding chimpanzee trekking Uganda adventures in Kalinzu Forest Reserve, one of the country’s richest tropical rainforests. Located in western Uganda, Kalinzu covers approximately 137 square kilometres and sits between 1,000 and 1,500 metres above sea level.
The forest is home to more than 300 chimpanzees, with several habituated groups available for trekking. Besides chimpanzees, visitors may also encounter black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, forest elephants, bush pigs, antelopes, and many other wildlife species.
Furthermore, Kalinzu Forest boasts over 379 bird species, around 262 butterfly species, and more than 400 tree and shrub species, making it one of Uganda’s best destinations for both wildlife lovers and birdwatchers.
Because of its rich biodiversity and fewer crowds, Kalinzu is considered one of the best alternatives to Kibale Forest for an authentic chimpanzee trekking experience.
