Mt Elgon National Park

Mt Elgon National Park is located in the boarder of eastern Uganda and is 4000 kmsq. It is also known as the 4th highest mountain of east African. With an extinct volcanoes located in the eastern part of Uganda.
Activities in Mt Elgon National Park include mountain biking, mountain climbing, birding, hiking, national walks, rock climbing, spot fishing and cultural encounters.

Biking is done on the trail which runs from sipi trading center to chema hill. This gives the tourist an opportunity to view water falls. Mountain climbing is ideal for most travelers to elgon region because of the mild climate. Birds that can be seen in mt elgon include; the African Goshawk, chubbs, cisticola, white chinned prinia and African blue fly catchers.

Nature walks are done which gives the tourist a chance to view walls of death and the African sunrise across the karamoja plains. Spot fishing is done above the highest of the three waterfalls at sipi. Cultural encounters are done also. Arabic coffee is grown on the slopes of the mountain. Mt elgon Park can be arranged through using road transport on a tarmac road through jinja, mbale at the western base of mt elgon.
