3 days Chimpanzee tracking Kibale forest National park, it covers an averages of about 3,300 feet in elevation, with an extension of the great rain forests of central Africa. Inhabited by three large “communities” of chimpanzees and features with over 70 species of mammals, the 375 bird species with one endemic species the ground thrush.
Day 1 Kampala to Kibale forest National Park
At 7 am meet and greet worldwide tour guide before embarking on a long journey to kibale forest National Park via mityana, mubende, kyenjojo and Fortportal. Expect to see a lot of animals’ en-route for example baboons and monkeys. Make a stopover in fort portal town at visit tours hotel in time for lunch (1 hour). Carry on and connect to Kibale National Park via isunga gate and expect to see elephant’s red tailed monkey’s baboons and birds like great blue turaco. Connect to kanyanchu tourist information center arriving at primate lodge. Relax at one of the best and first class lodges in the national park, have dinner and sleep.
Day 2 : Chimpanzee tracking Kibale forest National Park
At 7 am after early served breakfast, meet at kanyanchu information center before heading to the forest for chimpanzee tracking. Apart from the 12 primates in the forest expect to see butterflies and different type of birds. Walking through the forest with the chimpanzees carrying their young ones on their backs is one of the best memories a tourist would love to take back home. The group is allowed one hour with the chimpanzees as they both enjoy the experience for example looking at the chimpanzees’ feeds. Communicating with others in a distance through banging on butterfly roots.
Return to primate lodge in time for lunch (1 hour) at 2:00 pm prepare to go for birding at Bigodi. Expect to see different bird species for example the great blue turaco, BWC green bull, yellow vented bull, African pigmy king fisher and paradise fly catcher. After birding take a walk through Bigodi.
Expect to see different crafts made by local people for example baskets, mats, bags, beads, chairs, necklaces, hats. Return to primate in time for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 : Kibale National Park to Kampala
After an early served breakfast check out of lodge and start on a long day’s journey to Kampala. Enroute stop at Mpanga tea Estate before embarking on a journey to Kampala, Entebbe International airport.
