Sipi Falls is one of the amazing falls in Uganda that has made Kapchorwa to become one of the tourism hubs in the Eastern Part of Uganda. The fall comprises of the 3 waterfalls which involves quite an amazing hike, with enjoyable splash of mist on your face. The view of the sceneries and the plantation is one of its kinds. Though the upper two are beautiful, it’s the 95 m main drop that attracts the crowds, and most lodgings look out on to it. The view of the wide plains disappearing into the distance below is also spectacular.
The Sipi Falls area is particularly famous for locally grown Bugisu Arabica coffee. The Sipi River is named after the ‘Sep’, a plant indigenous to the banks of the River. Resembling a type of wild banana, Sep is a medicinal plant; the translucent green frond with a bolt of crimson rib is used for treating measles and fever. You one day visit at Sipi, will be one of the remarkable tour of a life time, due to the amazing hike and view of the wonderful falls.
